I want to share my passion for cycling

I have enjoyed many privileges growing up in a State as beautiful as Colorado; perhaps one of the most enduring has been my memories of the former Red Zinger Bicycle Classic later and perhaps more famously known as the Coors Classic.

Each summer, I was able to witness the multiple stages and stand in awe of the brilliance of among the worlds greatest cyclist including Greg Lemond, Bernard Hinault, Davis Phinney, Andy Hampsten, Connie Carpenter, Rebecca Twigg, Jeanie Longo, Johnathan Boyer, and Ron Kiefel among others.

These men and women formed the foundation for big time professional cycling for Americans and many of the cyclist that competed in the Red Zinger and Coors Classic formed the core of the 7-Eleven Professional Team in 1986. Members of the 7-Eleven team went on the win stages in the Giro and Tour De France and placed America on the map of European cycling. It was truly a golden age for American cycling and it all happened in my backyard every summer.

My lifelong love for cycling was born and I have been a passionate fan every sense. In 2006, I transformed my love for the sport into action by joining Team JR Engineering and racing in Colorado. I am not sure what took me so long to try my hand at racing, but I am grateful to have arrived at this stage in my life. The joy of riding my bike in training is enough, the act of racing is like the sweetest of deserts and I am loving every minute of it.

My love of the sport, placed into action, has lead me to create Sprocket Sports and I am not sure where it will ultimately lead; for now, I wanted to create this platform to share my love of the sport with others and provide anyone who visits the site to leave a footprint all their own by posting a comment or sharing a a little of your story. If it is like mine, I sure it is filled with twist and turns triumphs and defeats, all the while smiling because God has blessed you with a passion for something as beautiful as the sport of cycling.

Enjoy!
